The Washington Capitals Street Caps platform expands access to hockey by offering affordable, off‑ice entry points for youth in the D.C. area. Through three signature initiatives, local kids can learn the fundamentals of the game and gain exposure to the sport in a fun, safe environment.

Street vs. Ball Hockey

Ball hockey and street hockey are often used interchangeably
Typically, ball hockey is played in a boarded rink, while street hockey can be played anywhere
Our “Street Caps” platform includes all street/ball hockey activities held on Caps-branded outdoor street/inline hockey rinks

Learn to Play

Our REVAMPED street hockey clinic series available for kids ages 5 - 17. For only $10 participants will learn the basics of hockey in a fun and safe environment.

Capitals Street Hockey League

Grab a stick, lace up your sneakers, and get ready for fast-paced games, awesome teammates, and a whole lot of outdoor fun. It's hockey made simple, made accessible, and most importantly - made to be a blast for kids of all skill levels.

Baltimore Tournament

The biggest tournament of the summer! Our annual Baltimore Street Hockey Tournament is hosted at Madison Square Rec Center in Baltimore, MD brings city community centers together for a day packed with intense competition and big time cellies!
