The Washington Capitals are proud to renew their support for the Capitals Women's Hockey League at MedStar Capitals Iceplex!

The league currently has over 100 players across six teams ages 18+ with varying skill levels. The CWHL is committed to providing a fun, safe, and competitive place for women to play hockey at the adult level.

If you are interested in future seasons or subbing this season, please join the SUB/INTEREST LIST. There is no guarantee you will be contacted to play, but this list will allow team captains to call on subs during the season if needed.

LEAGUE information

The Capitals Women's Hockey League plays on Monday nights at MedStar Capitals Iceplex in two seasons:

  • Fall/Winter
  • Spring/Summer

The Washington Capitals are excited to offer additional benefits to all CWHL players including:

  • Ticket offers throughout the 2025-26 season
  • Clinics and open ice sessions (subject to availability)
  • The championship team for the Fall/Winter season each year will receive a FREE catered suite during the Washington Capitals Women in Hockey Night game each March
