OUR MISSION

The Washington Capitals Youth Hockey Development department is committed to growing and providing access to the game of hockey throughout the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Our goal is to facilitate an inclusive environment by offering a myriad of programs on and off the ice for all skill levels.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT

Capitals Street Hockey League

The Capitals Street Hockey League (CSHL) offers kids the chance to experience the excitement of hockey in a fun, low‑pressure, off‑ice setting. Designed as a co‑ed league for youth ages 5–12, CSHL focuses on fast‑paced, small‑area games that emphasize teamwork, creativity, and skill development—no skating required. No equipment is needed, making the league an approachable and inclusive way for kids of all backgrounds and experience levels to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the game!

PWHL TAKEOVER TOUR

The PWHL came into town on January 18th and made its impact on the DMV with a Takeover Tour game between the Montreal Victoire and New York Sirens. Over 17,000 fans attended the game and had a blast. Check out the recap video to see everything that made the weekend such a big success!
